THIS MONTH’S SPOTLIGHT: ZAKIA SHAIKH

Hi there!

I’m Zakia, founder of NeuroPathways, a coaching service where I support neurodivergent adults to thrive —in work, study and everyday life.

With over 20 years of experience in education and a deep understanding of neurodiversity, I’ve helped over 1,500 students. This extensive background provided me with the knowledge and insight needed to transition into neurodiversity coaching for adults/professionals, building strategies around executive function, emotional regulation, and confidence.

As a qualified neurodiversity coach and accredited specialist study skills tutor, my work is strengths- based, inclusive, and completely tailored to each individual. I also have a deep understanding of doctoral culture – including supervision dynamics, isolation, perfectionism, and imposter syndrome.

NeuroPathways offers personalised 1:1 coaching for adults with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other neurodivergent profiles. Sessions focus on building sustainable habits, navigating overwhelm, and creating structure, exploring negative thought patterns, and more. I offer a nuanced coaching approach that respects and understands the complexities of intersectionality, identity, family, and societal expectations.

I support individuals through the Access to Work process, as well as those privately funding or employer-supported.

My brand, NeuroPathways, reflects the idea that with the right support, we can form new neural pathways for learning, self-understanding, and meaningful change—at any stage of life.

When I’m not working, creative expression and walking help me recharge and stay present—just like I encourage my clients to find what nourishes them. Whether it’s painting a plant pot, upcycling something old, or tending to the garden, I believe in the power of small, meaningful practices.
