THIS MONTH’S SPOTLIGHT: KATHLEEN HELM

Kathleen Helm (They/Them) is an ICF Certified ADHD Coach, neurodiversity trainer, and speaker, and the founder of Think Kinetic, a social enterprise focused on inclusion, disability justice, and neurodiversity advocacy.

Their work is shaped by lived experience as a late-diagnosed Autistic ADHDer, multi-disabled, queer, and working-class person. That perspective directly informs how they coach, train, and advocate.

Kathleen specialises in working with late-diagnosed and neurodivergent-questioning individuals, particularly those who feel stuck, burnt out, or like they should have figured this out by now.

Coaching with Kathleen goes beyond surface-level strategies. It is a space to properly understand what is actually going on, from ingrained patterns to the cumulative impact of trying to function in environments that do not fit. Their work is grounded in navigating multiple layers of marginalisation.

Their coaching is not about fixing or forcing change, but about understanding patterns, reducing friction, and creating sustainable ways forward that feel realistic and aligned.

Many clients come in not really knowing who they are or how they work anymore, with low confidence and a long history of trying to meet expectations that were never built with them in mind. For those who are late-diagnosed in particular, there is often a gap between finally having a label and actually understanding what it means day to day. Kathleen’s work focuses on closing that gap, helping clients make sense of their brain, build trust in their own judgement, and develop approaches that genuinely work for them.

Alongside their coaching, Kathleen is a UK Parliament ADHD Champion, ADHD UK Lead Ambassador, and a regular contributor to national conversations shaping neurodiversity policy and awareness.

Their training and speaking work supports organisations to move beyond performative inclusion and into changes that hold up in real-world conditions.

Their work is grounded in a clear position: if something is not working, the answer is not always to try harder. Often, it is to question the expectations, systems, and assumptions underneath it.
