About me

Hello, I’m Stephanie, also known as the Dyslexic OT.

I support adults with dyslexia to better understand themselves, build confidence, and develop practical strategies for work, study, and daily life.

I was diagnosed with dyslexia at 31, after growing up in the UK education system as an undiagnosed child. I know first-hand what it feels like to struggle through school, higher education, and work without fully understanding why certain tasks feel harder than they seem to for others.

For much of my life, I worked twice as hard to keep up. Writing, organisation, processing information, and report writing took a lot of effort, even though I was capable and motivated. Like many dyslexic adults, I carried self-doubt while appearing competent on the outside.

My diagnosis was a real “aha” moment. It helped me make sense of my strengths, challenges, and the strategies I needed to thrive.

As an occupational therapist with a Masters of Occupational Therapy degree, I bring both professional knowledge and lived experience to my work. I understand how dyslexia can affect confidence, routines, work demands, communication, organisation, and everyday life.

I am also a parent to two dyslexic children, and dyslexia runs in my family. This gives me a deep personal understanding of how dyslexia can impact people across
