About me
I am both Dyslexic and Dyspraxic. While working for Culture South East I started to become aware of large numbers of ND people working in the creative economy. On both a professional and voluntary basis I have become increasingly interested in issues related to the employability of ND people.
Recent Projects
2022 – Neurodiversity Equality Diversity and Inclusion and the levelling up agenda – Achievability E Journal 3rd edition
2021 – How Dyslexic People Work, A review of the changes in the way Dyslexic People were employed between 1970 & 2020 . p21 Achievability ejournal, Good Practice in the Workplace in the Time of Covid October 21.
2018 – Facilitated round table discussions to explore how apprenticeships and work-based learning opportunities could be made more accessible to neurodivergent people (p28) for Artswork and Achievability.
2017 – Contributed to Achievability Westminster Commission, Neurodivergent Voices opening doors to employment.
2014 – Ongoing – Helped shape and continue to assist in delivery (as a business coach) Ravensbourne University SEEDS programme (Self-Employment Entrepreneurship and Diversity. The first Entrepreneurship Programme, designed for and by Neuro-Divergent people.
2013 – Facilitated Creative Dyslexic Alliance meeting, hosted by , The President of the British Dyslexia Association. The meeting explored how support structures for dyslexic professionals working in the creative sector could be enhanced.
Voluntary Activity
2023 – Director –Neurodiverse Sport – Working to make Sport more Neuroinclusive.
2018- Director – Dyspla – Award-Winning Arts Organisation promoting the work of Neurodivergent storytellers.
2016 – Trustee – GroOops Dyslexia Aware Counselling.
2014- Director – Making Theatre Making Skills – improve life chances by opening pathways to employment.
2012-2020 Joint organiser with Ruth-Ellen Danquah of Dyslexia Success Meetups hosted at Ravensbourne University.
2019-2020 Director – A2i Dyslexia – Social Enterprise providing affordable assessments, and employability support.

Experience
I am an experienced policy researcher and strategist, specialising in Culture Sport and The Creative Economy.
I started my career as researcher for a Tourism and Regeneration Consultancy. I then worked in Higher Education and Local Government, before Joining Sport England.
I worked to embed the interests of the Culture, Sport, Film, Heritage and Tourism Sectors within regional policy as Executive Director of Culture South East.
I am currently a Director of my own company . Recent projects have focused on The Creative Economy, Place Shaping, Cultural Planning and Employability.
I am Neurodivergent (Dyslexic and Dyspraxic) and have a particular interest, in Neurodivergence in the Creative Economy, Including, Employment and Self Employment.
